M34

As the Messier open clusters go, M34 is certainly not one of the more impressive examples but is quite bright at magnitude 5.2 and can be naked eye visible under exceptional skies.  M34 is located in the constellation Perseus and is about 1,500 light year's distant.  It is comprised of about 80 member stars.
