Wind Technology, Old and New

These are wind mills for electrical production and one slightly less modern one for water production. Makes for an interesting snapshot of our changing technology doesn't it? I now wish I'd gone ahead and jumped the rancher's fence and shot a bit better perspective of the two. But respect for the rancher's property prevailed.
Those are cows at the foot of the windmills, the more modern ones I mean, and the turbine on each is about the size of a school bus with a span on the blades of some 150 feet. As the blades spin, they make this deep whoosh, whoosh sound that is most impressive.
